GENERAL SUMMARY AND SCOPE
A working leader, focused on providing leadership to the team in primary support of the health system technology infrastructure, including all data center and disaster recovery sites, physical and virtual servers, storage and backup infrastructure, server operating systems, wired and wireless local and wide area networks and all telecommunications. the Network Manager will play a key role in the evolution of a FRMC Service Management strategy based on the ITIL framework. Is responsible for major portions of the selection, design, development, implementation, upgrades and support of the technology infrastructure that will impact health system patient care delivery and operations. Works in cooperation with work groups, coordinates and communicates the activities of technical staff with a broad range of backgrounds, motivations and needs.

ESSENTIAL TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Periodically reviews appropriateness of current technologies and tools; recommends modifications and/or upgrades to keep systems operating according to evolving health system requirements.
In collaboration with the Information Services Leadership Team (ISLT), establishes level of service standards and operating policies/procedures for overall system availability and individual system components.
Prepares strategic technology architecture plan and operating and capital budget recommendations for areas of responsibility.
Partners with ISLT to establish priorities and to provide a cost efficient and effective computing environment.
Communicates ideas; understands and interprets other’s ideas; demonstrates courtesy, consideration, and patience.
Manages fluctuations in work and schedule requirements effectively; demonstrates initiative and cooperation.
The ability to build relationships and empower people is essential.
Uses resources efficiently; tracks and reports progress on active projects; manages work on concurrent projects using approved Firelands tools.
Demonstrates ability to manage technical staff having a wide variety of skills, challenge them in their work and increase their skill level, provide a high level of support to the organization, make well-reasoned decisions, and operate within the approved budget in an environment that requires high levels of availability and reliability.

Maintains regular communication with staff to motivate them and help them achieve their maximum potential; monitors employee morale and job satisfaction, and resolves problems; establishes and communicates changes in policies and/or procedures.
Analyzes requests for new technology to determine feasibility, potential overlap with other technology, and hardware/software/interface requirements; consults with service users to identify and resolve problems.
Evaluates employee performance; counsels and disciplines employees; interviews and recommends applicants for hire.
Produces and maintains documentation in a manner that enables others to benefit.
OTHER TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitors, maintains and analyzes all aspects of infrastructure on an ongoing basis; Works with Senior Infosec Analyst on security audits and remediation.
Stays abreast of developments in the fields of Information Services, Telecommunications, and Healthcare; reviews job-related publications, and broadens knowledge of various tasks through orientation by others.
Demonstrates service excellence and ACE in all of his/her assigned responsibilities.
Participates in department performance improvement activities as assigned and attends required training.
Maintains a safe and orderly work environment, and performs other duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Bachelor’s degree in related field and 2 years of equivalent work experience, or 5 years of equivalent work experience with increasing responsibility.
Desirable experience includes: Implementation and on-going support of server and client virtualization technologies (VMware); Storage technologies, networking technologies (Cisco, Brocade, Juniper, etc.) and VPN management technologies.
Detail and result oriented with strong interpersonal and supervisory skills in the areas of leadership, motivation, human relations, problem solving, organization, scheduling, etc.
Demonstrates initiative and the ability to work independently in a stressful environment.
Demonstrates ability to grasp new and technical concepts quickly, and stay current with technology.
Demonstrates analytical abilities, creativity, and attentiveness to detail.
Demonstrates compliance with organizational and departmental policies, practices and procedures.
Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral form including communicating very technical information to a less technical audience.
Demonstrates willingness to respond to after-hours calls, work overtime and/or a non-standard work schedule.
Must possess a valid State of Ohio motor vehicle operator’s license and be insurable under
Firelands’ auto policy.
Employee must provide proof of personal automobile liability
insurance coverage upon request.
Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner and maintain an accident-free work place, including ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of Medical Center emergency codes.
Demonstrates compliance with applicable OSHA regulations and CDC standard and transmission-based precaution recommendations and the ability to utilize proper personal protective equipment.
Demonstrates compliance with provisions of applicable S.D.S. forms.
Successful completion of a one hundred eighty (180) day probationary period.
